Assistant Nursing Director - Health - The job duties of the Assistant Nursing Director include but are not limited to supervise the nursing and program counseling staff; to prepare grants for the Health Department; to assist in developing policies and procedures that support individual and community health efforts; to conduct QI program and supervise all training; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public. 


WIC Registered Nurse - Health - The primary job duties of a Women, Infant, and Children(WIC) Registered Nurse is to certify clients and provide individualized nutrition counseling. This includes, but not limited to, providing eligibility information, data input, client education, program evaluation, and community outreach.  Additionally, all county employees are expected to provide responsive, courteous, and efficient service to county residents and the general public.

Educational Liaison  - Community Corrections -  The job duties of the Educational Liaison include but are not limited to provide assistance to students participating in the Truancy Success Program; to create a collaboration between Community Corrections and USD 475 and assist with Truancy Court; to help students improve their attendance and grades; to provide referrals/outside resources to help mitigate any existing personal or familial issues, to work with AARC program, intake, Court Services, other Community Corrections entities, as well as USD 475 staff and administrators to provide needed services to students and their families; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to all county residents and the general public.  Full Time and Part Time position.


WIC Coordinator - Health - The job duties of the WIC Coordinator include but are not limited to inform, educate and empower people about health issues; to mobilize community partnerships to identify and solve health problems; to develop policies and plans that support individual and community health efforts; to enforce laws and regulations that protect health and ensure safety;to link people to needed personal health services and assure the provision of health care when otherwise unavailable; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.


Health Nurse I - RN - Health - The job duties of the Health Nurse I include but are not limited to referring women to ensure that women have access to contraception in order to prevent unplanned pregnancies; to provide education to women about pap smears, breast exams, STI testing and other services that are available; assist clients with finding a primary care provider. and to provide responsive,courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public


WIC Assistant - Health Department - The job duties of the WIC Clerk include but are not limited to safeguard the health of multicultural low-income women, infants, and children up to age five who are at nutritional risk; to improve pregnancy outcome in WWW. this population by providing nutrition education, health care referrals, breastfeeding education and support, and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public. 


Deputy/Firefighter - Sheriff - The job duties of the Deputy/Firefighter include but are not limited to perform general law enforcement duties in the protection of life and property within Geary County; to patrol county areas; to make investigations at the scene of a crime or traffic accident; to provide security at the Geary County Courthouse;to perform the duties of a firefighter and first responder to accidents;  to enforce all federal, state, and local law resolutions; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public. 


VIN Inspector -  Sheriff - The job duties of the VIN Inspector include but are not limited to conduct vehicle identification inspections on out-of-state vehicles for residents seeking Geary County titles in order to detect stolen vehicles and parts; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.   This position is in Riley County working less than 32 hours per week.


Heavy Equipment Operator - Public Works - The job duties of the skilled Heavy Equipment Operator include but are not limited to provide highway and bridge maintenance and construction, construction and maintenance materials handling, and highway facilities maintenance; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public. 


Building Maintenance - IST - Sheriff Dept. - The job duties of the Building Maintenance include but are not limited to perform general building custodial duties, grounds upkeep, move furniture, painting,cleaning and assist with maintenance tasks under the supervision of the Buildings Maintenance Supervisor; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public. This is a part-time non-benefit eligible position at the Sheriff’s Department. This is an Intermittent/Seasonal/Temporary position.


Posse - Sheriff - Support the Sheriff's Department by volunteering your time by performing an array of duties.  Posse members ride on patrol assisting patrol Deputies with various duties to include; traffic control, search and seizure, search and rescue, lake patrol operations, warrant details, response to critical incidents, community service events, amongst many other aspects of the department.  Posse members support patrol, detention and clerical operations through proper training as well as being able to bring knowledge and experience from their own jobs to better assist the department and the community.


Correction Officer - Sheriff Dept. - The job duties include but are not limited to take care of the needs of the inmates in the Geary County Detention Center; to provide the proper treatment, cleanliness, and basic care of the inmates and the facility; to ensure that the inmates are granted their constitutional rights; to enforce all federal, state, and local law resolutions; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.  Please apply on the ADP application link listed below.


Juvenile Intake and Assessment  Worker - Nights - Community Corrections - The duties include but are not limited to screen and conduct intake for juveniles; to be responsible for coordinating placement into foster care, emergency shelters, detention or attendant care; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to all county residents and the general public.  Work schedule:  1 night weekly plus a Friday - Sunday shift every 4 weeks.
