Fee Changes for the Year of 2018: Site Published Date - Tuesday, September 19, 2017

Dear Filing Customers,

As you are aware effective July 2014 the Kansas legislature passed a bill that changes

KSA 28-115 and KSA 79-310

For KSA 28-115

A new fee schedule for all recordings of deeds, mortgages, and other miscellaneous documents as well as UCC documents.

For KSA 79-3102 and KSA 28-115 (j)

The Mortgage Registration Fee will be calculated at .0005% during the calendar year of 2018.

                 With mortgages where the principal debt or obligation is secured by a mortgage that is $75,000.00 or less per KSA 28-115 (j) there is a $125.00 filing fee cap ---- this applies to filing fees only.

To qualify the mortgage must be:

1. Single Family Mortgage on

2. Principal Residence AND

3. Where the principal debt or obligation secured by mortgage is $75,000.00 or less

Geary County is requiring that an affidavit be completed stating these facts and attached to the mortgage for filing.

Kansas Sales Validation Questionnaires: posted on - Wednesday, January 29, 2014

As of September, 2013 The Geary County Register of Deeds office is NOW authorized to accept the 1 part Kansas Sales Validation Questionnaire.  When submitting documents for recording please submit the 1 part Sales Validation Questionnaire when applicable. We will accept the new 3 part questionnaire until supplies are depleted. Click the link to see a list of Kansas Counties authorized to accept the 1 part Sales Validation Questionnaires. Go to http://www.ksrevenue.org/pvdratiostats.html to download the 1 part questionnaire.
