Account Clerk - County Clerk - The job duties include but are not limited to perform the record keeping and clerical duties in maintaining the payroll records and processing payroll of all county employees; to accurately maintain all payroll records including taxes and benefits, balance benefit vendor billings for payment, and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County employees, residents and the general public.


Administrative Specialist II - County Clerk/Human Resources - The job duties include but are not limited to assist the County Clerk and the Human Resources Director in the administration of various office related activities.  See job description for more details.


Billings Clerk - Health Department - The job duties include but are not limited to provide prompt and accurate billing to maintain constant cash flow; to assure all procedures codes are correctly input for all KanCare Medicaid, private insurance and Medicare programs according to state regulations; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.


Community Health Planner - Health Department - The job duties include but are not limited to coordinate public health emergency preparedness, to coordinate Safe Kids Geary County grant, to write public health program grants, to conduct administrative duties assisting the Health Department administrator, develop, implement, and evaluate health education programs; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.


Public Works Administrator - Public Works - The job duties include but are not limited to administer, plan, direct, supervise and implement the activities of the Public Works Department; to develop the specifications and cost estimates for all road, bridge, transfer station, wastewater, water and noxious weed projects and programs; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.


Drug Test Technician - PT - Community Corrections - This position is within the Eighth Judicial District Community Corrections Drug Court program.  Responsibilities involve collecting court-ordered urine samples from adults assigned to supervision.  Work is performed at the Geary County office of the 8th Judicial District Community Corrections Department.  This is a part-time position working up to 20 hours a week (including some weekends and holidays).


Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Health Department - The job duties of the Licensed Practical Nurse include but are not limited to provide services in the general clinics ( i.e.immunizations, STD, family planning, TB and pregnancy testing); to ensure that 90% or greater of our pediatric clients who are enrolled in VFC, immunization records are complete, accurate and current; to maintain contact and educate parents on the importance of vaccinations and making certain that children are up to date to reduce the risk of disease or infection; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public. 


Health Nurse I - RN - Health Department - The job duties of the Health Nurse I include but are not limited to ensure that women have access to contraception in order to prevent unplanned pregnancies;to provide education to women about pap smears, breast exams, STI testing and other services that are available; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public. 


Student Dietetic Experience - Health Dept. - Geary County WIC is offering a paid, summer, 10-week student dietetic experience to qualifying students.  Applicants must be junior or senior level and enrolled in an accredited Coordinated or Didactic Program in Dietetics.  Student will be working in the WIC clinic with registered dietitians and collaborative partners 32-35 hours a week.  Duties may include, but are not limited to organizing community events, assisting and teaching cooking classes, attending coalition meetings, attending breastfeeding training, and observing and completing WIC appointments.


Correction Officer - Sheriff Dept. - The job duties include but are not limited to take care of the needs of the inmates in the Geary County Detention Center; to provide the proper treatment, cleanliness, and basic care of the inmates and the facility; to ensure that the inmates are granted their constitutional rights; to enforce all federal, state, and local law resolutions; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.  Please apply on the ADP application link listed below.


Juvenile Intake and Assessment  Worker - Nights - Community Corrections - The duties include but are not limited to screen and conduct intake for juveniles; to be responsible for coordinating placement into foster care, emergency shelters, detention or attendant care; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to all county residents and the general public.  Work schedule:  1 night weekly plus a Friday - Sunday shift every 4 weeks.
