Cook II - Sheriff - The job duties of the Cook II include but are not limited to food preparation,kitchen clean-up, and general food service duties at the Geary County Jail; to adhere to regulations and standards for food preparation as well as safety and sanitation requirements; to adhere to all federal, state, and local laws; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.


Customer Service Specialist I - Treasurer - The job duties include but are not limited to provide accurate and complete information regarding motor vehicle laws for private vehicles; to calculate, receive and process monies for personal and real estate taxes, motor vehicle title and registrations, return checks and KS Wildlife and Game Park permits; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.

Kennel Technician - FT - Animal Shelter - The job duties include but are not limited to perform routine and technical services related to the maintenance, upkeep and improvements of the shelter; to care for the health, welfare, and well-being of animals at the shelter; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.


Intensive Supervision Officer I (ISO I) - Community Corrections - The job duties include but are not limited to:supervising clients assigned to the 8th Judicial Community Corrections; to assist each client in improving the level of functioning within the community through education, employment, counseling,etc.; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to all county residents and the general public. 


Maintenance Worker - Public Works - The job duties include but are not limited to provide road and bridge maintenance and construction, construction and maintenance materials handling, and facilities maintenance; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.

Heavy Equipment Operator - Public Works - The job duties of the skilled Heavy Equipment Operator include but are not limited to provide highway and bridge maintenance and construction, construction and maintenance materials handling, and highway facilities maintenance; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.  


Kennel Technician - PT or OnCall - Animal Shelter - The job duties of the Kennel Technician include but are not limited to perform routine and technical services related to the maintenance, upkeep and improvements of the shelter; to care for the health, welfare, and well-being of animals at the shelter; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.   Part-time: position working hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 noon.  On-Call:  Work as needed.

Deputy/Firefighter - Sheriff - The job duties but are not limited to perform general law enforcement duties in the protection of life and property within Geary County; to patrol county areas; to make investigations at the scene of a crime or traffic accident; to provide security at the Geary County Courthouse; to perform the duties of a firefighter and first responder to accidents;  to enforce all federal, state, and local law resolutions; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.


Lieutenant - Corrections -  Sheriff - The job duties of the Lieutenant – Corrections include but are not limited to assist with the overall supervision of the County Jail; to ensure that the living conditions of the inmates are maintained in a humane manner; to ensure that the inmates are granted their constitutional rights; to coordinate and oversee the training of all the correction officers and evaluate their work; to enforce all federal, state, and local law resolutions; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.


Corrections - Sergeant - Sheriff - The job duties of the Corrections-Sergeant include but are not limited to assist with the overall supervision oft he County Jail; to ensure that the living conditions of the inmates are maintained in a humane manner; to ensure that the inmates are granted their constitutional rights; to coordinate and oversee the training of all the correction officers and evaluate their work; ; to enforce all federal, state,and local law resolutions; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public. 


Juvenile Intake & Assessment - Nights - GE -  Community Corrections - The job duties of the Juvenile Intake & Assessment Worker include but are not limited to screen and conduct intake for juveniles; to be responsible for coordinating placement into foster care, emergency shelters, detention or attendant care; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to all county residents and the general public.   Work Schedule: 1 night weekly plus a Friday - Sunday shift every 4 weeks.  This position is in Geary County.


Juvenile Intake & Assessment - Nights - MarionThe job duties of the Juvenile Intake & Assessment Worker include but are not limited to screen and conduct intake for juveniles; to be responsible for coordinating placement into foster care, emergency shelters, detention or attendant care; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to all county residents and the general public.   Work schedule:  Monday thru Thursday, 5:00 pm – 8:00 am/Friday thru Monday, 8:00 pm – 8:00 am.  This position is in Marion County.


Posse - Sheriff - Support the Sheriff's Department by volunteering your time by performing an array of duties.  Posse members ride on patrol assisting patrol Deputies with various duties to include; traffic control, search and seizure, search and rescue, lake patrol operations, warrant details, response to critical incidents, community service events, amongst many other aspects of the department.  Posse members support patrol, detention and clerical operations through proper training as well as being able to bring knowledge and experience from their own jobs to better assist the department and the community.


Correction Officer - Sheriff Dept. - The job duties include but are not limited to take care of the needs of the inmates in the Geary County Detention Center; to provide the proper treatment, cleanliness, and basic care of the inmates and the facility; to ensure that the inmates are granted their constitutional rights; to enforce all federal, state, and local law resolutions; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.  Please apply on the ADP application link listed below.
